iBuyPower’s Steam Machine, which was showcased in a series of prototype images yesterday, has received some new details for pricing and specifications. According to The Verge, the third party living room PC will feature a multi-core AMD CPU, an AMD Radeon R9 270 GPU, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and a 500 GB HDD. There will also be no power brick, with the console measuring larger than the PS4 and smaller than the Xbox One.
And how much will it run you in terms of cost? It will retail for $499 when it goes on sale in 2014 and will include Valve’s Steam Controller. As mentioned yesterday, the device will be available in two variants dubbed “Gordon” and “Freeman”. You can choose a console with an illuminated lightbar running along the edge or go for one that has a black lightbar and doesn’t light up.
