The icebreaker Borealis was originally to appear in Half-Life 2
It’s really hard to imagine that the Borealis was supposed to make an appearance in Half Life 2, as the Hyperborea, but for some reason the developers cut that part out. Also in the game’s development, the ship was to appear between two other cut chapters, the Air Exchange and Kraken Base before being finally cut and replaced with alternate stages, which was set between the Depot and the City 17 street battles.
