In Episode 2 Dr. Magnusson makes a reference to Half Life
Dr Arne Magnusson might not be the warmest person in the Half Life universe, but he certainly has a damn good memory. When Gordon arrives with Alyx in White Forest, he is tasked with taking care of the rocket and battling the striders. However before Gordon leaves for his task, the good Dr Magnusson says “Oh, and Freeman! If you pull this off, I might just forgive you for that debacle at Black Mesa. You know the one I mean… involving a certain microwave casserole.) This statement is a great reference to Half Life, when the player can turn on a microwave and explode the meal inside.
