In Half Life Episode 1 Dr Kleiner asks everyone to procreate.
By the time Half Life Episode 1 rolls in, City 17 is devastated and the human population is dwindling, during Gordon’s and Alyx’s escape, they encounter Dr Kleiner’s message to the survivors and suffice to say it is a hilarious one as well as a inspirational ode to the series and war. During or after the invasion the Combine installed a Suppression Field which prevents human procreation and it is installed somewhere between Half Life and Half Life 2. However when the Citadel falls, the suppression fields are down and Dr Kleiner encourages everyone to procreate, in order to rebuild humanity. Alyx comments on the unusual nature of this directive with, “Is Dr. Kleiner really telling everyone to… ‘Get busy’?”.
