The G-Man was originally to be mentioned in Portal 2.
I mentioned in my previous feature “Top Portal Secrets” that there is a connection between the worlds of Portal and Half Life, and there is a connection between Gordon Freeman and Chell. In Portal the developers contemplated for the G-man to be mentioned in Portal 2. At some point, soon after waking up Chell, Wheatley was to tell her “A man with a briefcase was just here to see you. This point and clue itself shows that there are some exciting times ahead for us.
