Gordon Freeman was originally known as “Ivan the Space Biker”
It’s hard to imagine our legendary hero being called Ivan the Space Biker; it just doesn’t have that epic feel to it. But it is a fact that the developers first named Gordon Freeman Ivan, and had a model made that made him look like a biker. However Valve decided to scrap the name and go with Gordon Freeman and make him look like a scientist figure, and we are so, so glad that they did. The rest as they say is History and this one was for the books.
