Half Life 2 Episode 1 was originally named Half-Life 2: Aftermath
Even with an epic game like Half Life 2, the developers gathered around and wondered where to take the series, because they just ended Half Life 2 in a epic cliffhanger and made us gamers have a love/hate relationship with Valve. However the developers decided that they would make the next two titles episodic and the name they came up with the first one was “Aftermath. Which was not a bad choice except after a lot of deliberation they found out that it was just easier to make the name of the game to Half Life Episode One.
