In May, Episode Three is announced for a 2007 release
Episode 3 would have been the greatest present in 2007 for all of us, but sadly Valve didn’t come through as usual, and managed to dash our hopes quite badly. But that’s not the kicker, apparently, the surprise was that Episode 3 was said to be only the end of the current Half-Life 2 story arc, though not the end of the overall Half-Life franchise, and apparently there were plans for Episode four.
