inFamous: Second Son Developers Open Up About Game’s Sound Design Process

One of the last things most people pay attention to in a video game, sadly enough, is the audio. Which sucks, because the audio and sound design of a video game might just be the most important part of it. Not only can it set and enhance the mood and atmosphere, it also provides something a whole lot more intangible to the game- its soul, as corny and cheesy as that sounds.

Sucker Punch, the developers of the upcoming inFamous: Second Son, took to the PlayStation Blog to explain how their process of sound design and audio mixing for inFamous: Second Son worked. They talk about the higher standard of sound design that players will expect from a PS4 game, as well as the sounds they came up with for the individual powers ad for the ambience, detailing how the recording was all done at  Sony’s Bridgepointe studio.

inFamous: Second Son launches March 22 exclusively for the PlayStation 4. Stay tuned.
