Inscryption Out on October 19th, Demo Now Live on Steam

The deck-building rogue-lite sees players exploring a strange cabin, using bizarre cards to progress and eventually find a way out.

It takes a lot to unnerve anyone who follows Devolver Digital’s upcoming releases but Daniel Mullins Games’ Inscryption pulled it off. Announced at E3 2021, the “card-based odyssey” comes from the developer of Pony Island and The Hex. A free demo is now live to try on Steam but we won’t have to wait long for the full release – it’s out on October 19th for PC.

A new trailer has also been released and it’s about as mind-melting as it is indecipherable. The game itself sees the player partaking in a deck-building roguelike with dollops of horror, cards that are seemingly alive and puzzles to escape the mysterious Leshy’s cabin.

What’s going on and who is the mysterious person on the other side of the table? We’ll have to find out in the coming weeks but suffice to say that this should be another mind-melting story for the ages. Stay tuned for more details when it releases in the coming weeks.
