An intriguing tone and feel

Cartoons and violence: A match made in heaven

As far as the trailer’s aesthetics are concerned, Overstrike looks set to adopt the same cartoon style of Insomniac’s platforming franchises. The trailer also showed some pretty gory bits as well. Extreme violence in a comic book style isn’t exactly a new prospect, but I’m sure that Insomniac will be able to take it in a new and engaging direction with Oversrike.

A choice of platforms

Will this be your weapon of choice?

If Insomniac’s move to create a completely new IP hasn’t peak your interest enough, then you may be interested to hear that Overstrike will not be released as a PS3 exclusive. You heard that right. For decades Insomniac have developed their games exclusively for the Playstation brand. Now though, with the addition of EA as publisher, Insomniac will be bringing Overstrike to both PS3 and Xbox 360. Insomniac will not be releasing a PC version of the game, claiming that the console audience is “what they know best.” It seems PC gamers will need to wait a little longer for some Insomniac lovin’, but until then 360 gamers can take some small solace that Overstrike will be hitting up their platform of choice.
