Sega’s Judgment, a spinoff of their popular Yakuza series, is getting an English dub and has been doing a lot to highlight both the actors themselves as well as how they went about translating it from the original Japanese in a somewhat less traditional way. Now we’ve got two more major characters introduced, along with the voices behind them.
First we have Masaharu Kaito, a friend of the main protagonist who is rough around the edges, being a former Yakuza, but always loyal and ready to have a friend’s back when things go south. His English voice actor is Crispin Freeman, who describes Kaito as a “hurricane character,” who he plays as close to the spirit of the original as possible.
Then we have Mafuyu Fuji, a female prosecutor who is an on and off romantic interest to the main protagonist. Despite their feelings, they clash, which English voice actor Cherami Leigh sees as part of the appeal, as it creates a grounded, multidimensional character. You can see both videos from the official RGG Twitter below.
Judgment will release June 25th exclusively for PlayStation 4.
