Kingdom Hearts HD 2.5 ReMIX Trailer is a Blast From the Past

Check out what the second HD remake collection brings us.

Square Enix has released a new trailer for the upcoming Kingdom Hearts HD 2.5 ReMIX, which is an HD remake of Kingdom Hearts 2: Final Mix and the PSP title Birth By Sleep. Following the trend established in HD 1.5 ReMIX, we’ll also see new remastered HD cutscenes from Kingdom Hearts Re:coded. Check out the trailer above.

Kingdom Hearts 2 is arguably the better game in the series, debuting a new battle system and action heavy mechanics such as QTEs, Drive Forms and team-up attacks. Together with Birth By Sleep, it serves as an excellent gameplay package. The question is: will the HD packaging attract fans to an otherwise years-old game?

For those who want a refresher of the series before Kingdom Hearts 3 arrives, Kingdom Hearts HD 2.5 ReMIX will release exclusively for the PlayStation 3 in 2014. Stay tuned for more details in the coming months about both games, especially director Tetsuya Nomura’s other big release Final Fantasy XV.
