Along with announcing that the entire Kingdom Hearts series is making its way to Nintendo Switch 2 in the form of Kingdom Hearts 1.5 + 2.5 HD Remix, Kingdom Hearts 2.8 HD Final Chapter Prologue, and Kingdom Hearts 3 + ReMind collections, Square Enix has also confirmed that Kingdom Hearts 4 will be coming to Nintendo Switch 2 as well. The announcement was made through a trailer during the recent Nintendo Direct, which you can check out below.
The trailer didn’t reveal too many details about Kingdom Hearts 4, like how it will pick up the story after the events of Kingdom Hearts 3, for example. Rather, we get some vague hints of the machinations of Organization XIII, as well as some massive monsters attacking what appears to be the real world. We also get to see Sora taking this massive monster on with his iconic Keyblade, along with looks at some of the characters that will be showing up in the title.
The fast-paced gameplay of the Kingdom Hearts franchise will seemingly return in Kingdom Hearts 4, with Sora having access to a wide array of moves that help him take down his Heartless foes. More details about the title will likely be revealed in the coming months.
All of the Kingdom Hearts collections will be coming to Nintendo Switch 2 on October 8th. A bundle with all three compilations will also be available on the same date. A free demo of Kingdom Hearts 3 will be available later today.
As for Kingdom Hearts 4, alongside the Nintendo Switch 2, the title is also coming to PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S.
