Knockout City

As is always the case with a good Nintendo Direct, there’s always a few off the wall surprises. The Direct today had quite a few of those, it seemed like, but one that really stood out was Knockout City, which got its grand reveal.

The trailer, which you can see in full below, features a cast of seemingly random characters as they talk about how they will help bring their team to victory. It’s a bit odd, but then segues into the gameplay which sees you and teammates engaging in a game of dodgeball, or as they prefer to call it, DodgeBRAWL. The game is developed by Velan Studios, who recently did Mario Kart Live: Home Circuit, and is said to have crossplay at launch.

Knockout City will release on PlayStation 4, Xbox One (with enhancements on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S, respectively), Switch and PC. A closed beta is also planned for Steam starting February 20th, which you can read more about through here.
