PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds makes huge inroads, too.

While digital numbers are still often largely obfuscated (we usually know relative performances of games, and we can estimate how many copies it has sold digitally by combining a variety of other sources and numbers), it looks like analyst firm SuperData has taken a stab at assessing performance of games in the digital sector in the month of September, across PC and consoles, both.

The result? On consoles, Destiny 2 predictably leads the pack, followed shortly by FIFA 18, NBA 2K18, Grand Theft Auto 5, and then, for some reason, FIFA 17. On the PC front, League of Legend obviously leads the pack, and it is followed by Fantasy Westward Journey Online 2 and Dungeon Fighter Online. Number 4 is PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds, which has made massive gains, and is trending over juggernauts such as DOTA 2 and World of Warcraft currently.

Note that these numbers are worldwide for both segments- as the digital market continues to get more and more relevant going forward, it shall be hugely interesting to observe performances of games in this arena, too.
