Level-5′s CEO Akihiro Hino has stated that the developer is working on a PlayStation 4 title. He stated the same in an interview with Nikkei’s Trendy Net, and revealed that it’s an unnamed title and still in the planning stage.

What’s interesting is how Hino stated that figuring network functionality for next generation hardware like the PS4 is paramount. Remember that not too long ago Hino stated that, “I am very interested in MMORPGs. It is a genre in which Level-5 has not been much involved so far, but I would try to make a game rich and high quality, which fully utilizes the technical capabilities of the console.”

Could the unnamed title be the MMORPG that Hino said he’d be interested in making? Or something else altogether? We’ll find out soon, since an announcement is apparently forthcoming.

Level-5 has been involved with Sony since the PS2 days – their latest title was Ni no Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch for the PS3.
