Lightning Returns: FFXIII New Trailer Resurrects Caius Ballad

Yet another return.

With all the cameos and returns being touted in Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII, the final chapter (hopefully) in the Lightning saga, it only made sense that one particular villain would return as well. We of course mean Final Fantasy XIII-2’s Caius Ballad who was even less threatening than Tidus. That being said, he seems to be in pretty good shape in Lightning Returns. Check out the boss battle with him above.

Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII will see protagonist Lightning entering the world after a 100 year gap in order to save it from destruction. There’s a doomsday clock and various side quests for extending one’s time along with a new revamped battle system. Is it worth revisiting the franchise, especially considering that it’s the lowest selling entry in the saga for Japan?

We’ll find out when it releases for Xbox 360 and PS3 on February 11th in North America and February 14th in Europe.
