Sure, we may stomp on the game every now and then for being an example of a series that needs to die, but Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII is looking to be a big improvement over previous games. The open-ended nature and ability to make monsters extinct is intriguing enough, though it remains to be seen just how compelling the game will be due to doomsday clock.
