Next year will see the launch of the next mainline entry in the Like a Dragon franchise with Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth, but before we get to see the next chapter in the stories of Kazuma Kiryu and Ichiban Kasuga, later this year, we’ll be turning back the clock and looking at an untold story focusing on the latter with the launch of Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name.

Set between the events of Yakuza 6: The Song of Like and Yakuza: Like a Dragon, the brawler will see Kiryu coming out of retirement (yet again) after having faked his death to undertake a mission as a secret agent. That will reflect in the gameplay as well, which we recently got to see in action.

At the RGG Summit, developer Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio showed off the two fighting styles that Kiryu will have access to in Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name– Yakuza style, which is your typical brawler style that will see Kiryu overpowering enemies with brute force, and Agent style, which he will use to defeat enemies using speed, martial arts techniques, and various gadgets. Check it out below.

During the summit, the developer also showcased a new cutscene from Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth with Kiryu and Ichiban sharing the spotlight. Check it out through here.

Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name launches on November 9 for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
