Thus far, Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio’s Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth has showcased delivery mini-games, crazy combat, surfing and even dolphin riding. However, in a new trailer at the Xbox Partner Preview showcase, the developer revealed Dondoko Island. It’s Animal Crossing but with Like a Dragon trappings.

Players can explore the island and gather materials to create their dream home. You can buy or craft furniture, customize different infrastructures, arrange them accordingly, and befriend other residents. Eventually, tourists will congregate on the island, and everyone can gather around the beach bonfire for a song.

Of course, this is a Yakuza game, which means uninvited guests and combat. Don’t worry, as there’s plenty of time to explore nature, catch insects and maybe discover the identity of the two strange mascots that are always around.

Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth launches on January 26th, 2024, for Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, PS5 and PC, retailing for $70, a first for the franchise.
