Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth has looked quite promising in the lead-up to its launch, but though there’s plenty about the upcoming RPG that has turned quite a few heads, publisher Sega is making some decisions that aren’t proving popular with the community.

One in particular is the decision to lock New Game Plus behind the game’s costlier editions. Over on the official Infinite Wealth website, Sega has laid out all the content and bonuses you will find in the game’s standard, digital deluxe, and digital ultimate editions (see below), and surprisingly, New Game Plus (which is included in the Master Vacation Bundle) isn’t available in the standard version.

The decision to lock a feature as fundamental and basic as New Game Plus behind costlier editions’ purchases has proven to be an understandably unpopular one, made even more unpopular by the fact that the standard edition is sold at a price of $70 (which in itself is a controversial price point, regardless of how common it’s become). The deluxe edition retails for $85, while the ultimate edition retails for $110, which means you’ll have to spend at least an additional $15 to gain access to New Game Plus.

That’s not all. As previously revealed, two new jobs in the form of Linebacker and Tennis Ace are also locked behind pre-orders.

Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth launches on January 26 for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
