Famitsu has released its latest weekly data for physical software and hardware sales in Japan, and unsurprisingly, Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii leads the way, being the biggest new release of last week. The action-adventure spinoff occupies the top two spots in the software charts, with its PS5 version selling over 68,000 units and its PS4 version selling over 36,000 units.

Collectively, Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii sold over 105,000 physical copies in Japan upon its release. In comparison, the last spinoff release in the series, Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name, sold over 123,000 units in Japan upon its launch in 2023.

The rest of the top 10 is dominated by first-party Nintendo Switch titles, including the likes of Donkey Kong Country Returns HD at No. 3, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe at No. 4, Super Mario Party Jamboree at No. 5, and Animal Crossing: New Horizons at No. 8. Interestingly, EA and Hazelight Studios’ It Takes Two also re-entered the top 10 at No. 9, selling over 3,000 units.

On the hardware side of things, the Nintendo Switch led proceedings as usual with over 39,000 units sold, with the {S5 following behind with over 13,000 units sold.
