Several big titles are launching next year, and Bandai Namco’s Little Nightmares 3 is undoubtedly one of them. Coming to Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, PS4, PS5 and PC, it’s developed by Supermassive Games instead of Tarsier Studios and takes place in a new location – The Spiral. In a new video, producer Coralie Feniollo offered details about the sequel and its setting.

Describing it as a “brand new adventure in the world of Little Nightmares,” she confirmed, “You will not need to play the previous game to enjoy Little Nightmares 3.” However, for fans of the series, some nods and secrets are included to link the stories.

It’s a “cluster of disturbing places,” and players can expect different locations, enemies and threats in each chapter. Interestingly, regarding the new characters, Low and Alone, Feniollo said the team will let players theorize about their relationship and how it pertains to other titles in the timeline once the game is out.

The Necropolis is the first location of The Spiral, one that’s “powered by gusting winds” and boasts “eternal energy” but also certain death. Once occupied by the Dwellers, it’s now abandoned. Players can “find moments of life frozen in time, vestiges of the past, and maybe discover what happened to this place and who used to live here,” says Feniollo.

It’s also where you have to deal with Monster Baby, a massive entity that may have something to do with what happened to the city. Stay tuned for more details on Little Nightmares 3 in the coming months, and check out the previous walkthrough gameplay video.
