Lords of the Fallen has shown a great deal of promise in all that we’ve seen of it so far- and in the weeks and months leading up to its October release, we’ve seen quite a lot. But though recent showings have been focused on what the Soulslike action RPG will have on offer with its gameplay, as recently promised, at Gamescom Opening Night Live, CI Games and Hexworks premiered a new trailer that focuses on its story.

Lords of the Fallen’s dark fantasy setting has, of course, looked like one of its stronger elements, and it’s on full display in the game’s newest trailer, with a variety of locations showed off from both of the realms that you’ll be exploring- Axiom, and its dark counterpart, Umbral. The footage drives home the fact that especially where its art style is concerned, the game is continuing to look promising. Check out the trailer below.

Lords of the Fallen is due out on October 13 for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
