Marathon Patch Will Adjust $10 LUX Bundle, Increase Starting Ammo in Free Sponsored Kits

Out later this week, the patch will also increase the distance that objective points become visible from 10 to 20 meters.

Two days after its admittedly above-average launch, Bungie’s Marathon will be getting its first patch later this week. It seeks to address complaints regarding the $10 LUX bundle, which granted 1100 LUX. However, cosmetics cost 1120 LUX, spurring some backlash from fans.

The bundle will now contain 1,120 LUX, and those who previously purchased it will receive an additional 20 LUX. Of course, this doesn’t address the cost of cosmetics or the return of Destiny 2’s much-hated one-time use shaders in the Rewards Pass, but Bungie, as it usually does, hears you.

“In addition to this, we’ve seen the rest of your feedback about Marathon’s purchasable cosmetics. We want to ensure that when you spend in Marathon, you feel like you are getting great value and discussing ways to improve this experience.” Hopefully, this also means providing more than one skin in the Premium Pass.

As for gameplay changes, the number of Med Cabinets and Munitions Crates on Perimeter will increase, as will the ammo provided in free Sponsored Kits from CyberAcme, MIDA and Arachne. The distance objective navigation points appear is also increasing from 10 to 20 meters, which should make them easier to pinpoint in the sea of colors and murderous UESC robots.

Marathon is available for Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and PC. It debuted to a peak concurrent total of 88,337 players on Steamwell below its Server Slam. However, daily peaks have been relatively strong, with the latest averaging at about 75,133.
