#5. RAINBOW ROAD 64 (MARIO KART 8 DELUXE)

Following up on the excellent SNES Rainbow Road (which we’ll get to in a bit) with a new rendition of the track must not have been an easy task, and though the N64 Rainbow Road isn’t as good as its predecessor, it’s still pretty darn good. And though there are certainly many people who’ll disagree with this, but we feel its updated version in Mario Kart 8 is better than the original. The visual update here really makes the track come to life like never before, while completely removing the fences and railings from the sides of the track also makes it a much more exciting and high-stakes affair.
