Mario Kart Tour Still Slated For This Summer, According To Nintendo

The mobile racer is still slated to take the track this year.

Nintendo is going all in on the mobile front at this point. Between the multiple Pokemon titles either out on mobile devices, or soon to be, and their other franchises, such as Dr. Mario World, the company is settling into the mobile space pretty well. One franchise that hasn’t made the jump yet is Mario Kart. But it should be coming soon, as Nintendo has reaffirmed that Mario Kart Tour is still slated to hit this summer.

Despite the fact that the game had an Android-based beta earlier in the year, it’s been pretty silent since then. The reception to it was somewhat mixed, making some wonder if maybe the game had been pushed back. But as part of Nintendo’s Q1 FY2019 report, the game was mentioned along with a summer release window.

It’s not a lot of information, but it seems there’s no delay- at least not one that’s ready to be announced. It was revealed in that same report that Mario Kart 8 Deluxe has sold over 18 million units (without including the original Wii U release), so the game has some real potential to become a hit on mobile.
