With Mario Strikers: Battle League featuring 10 playable characters at launch and having some notable omissions in that lineup, many have expressed their disappointment at the game’s sparse launch offerings. But much like other recent Mario sports titles, it looks like Nintendo will be looking to make amends with post-launch updates.

Recently, the company confirmed that the game will receive plenty of free post-launch DLC, including additional characters, and now, we might have a clearer idea of what that will entail. As spotted by @Wipeoutjack7 on Twitter, datamining of the game’s files seems to have revealed that Mario Strikers: Battle League will double the size of its roster with DLC characters, with the game currently featuring a total of 20 character slots.

If past Mario sports titles are any indication, this DLC will all be free. Whether additional post-launch content will also include additional mode, cosmetic content, and more remains to be seen, though of course, details on that are expected in the coming weeks and months.

Mario Strikers: Battle League is launching on June 10 for Nintendo Switch. A free demo of the game is also currently available.
