Mario Tennis Aces

Much like with ARMS and Splatoon 2, Mario Tennis Aces will have free post-launch content for players in the coming months. This will come in the form of new characters – Koopa Troopa will be arriving on August 1st while Blooper joins the roster in September.

However, according to Nintendo on the E3 2018 Treehouse livestream (as per Polygon), players who compete in an online tournament in July can earn enough points to unlock Koopa Troopa in advance. Meanwhile, there will be a tournament in August to help players unlock Blooper early.

Of course, this is also incentive for players to play online and compete against actual players. It’s not the worst incentive, that’s for sure. Mario Tennis Aces will be out on June 22nd for the Nintendo Switch. In the meantime, check out Koopa Troopa and Blooper in their own trailers below. If online play isn’t your thing, then there will be a full-fledged Story mode to enjoy as well.
