Marvel’s Avengers is Adding a Free War Machine Skin for Iron Man

Though previously leaked plans of War Machine DLC won't bear fruit, a free character skin based on the character will be added ahead of the game's closer later this year.

Earlier this year, Crystal Dynamics announced that it would be ending support for Marvel’s Avengers in September this year, and though, given how it failed to resonate with the masses, the announcement didn’t come as a massive surprise, it did mean that many of the developer’s unannounced, leaked DLC plans for the games would never bear fruit, including the likes of She-Hulk and other characters that were leaked all the way back in 2020, like War Machine.

But while War Machine won’t ever become a playable character in Marvel’s Avengers, players are getting something of a semi-viable substitute soon nonetheless. Taking recently to Twitter, Crystal Dynamics announced that a War Machine skin for Iron Man will be added to the game for free when Update 2.8 goes live later this week, “as a thank-you to all the players” who have supported the game. The DLC will be available to anyone who’s earned at least one Trophy or Achievement in the game.

Marvel’s Avengers is available on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, Xbox One, and PC. Crystal Dynamics will be officially ending support for the game on September 30.
