Marvel's Avengers

At long last, Square Enix unveiled Marvel’s Avengers, developed by Crystal Dynamics and Eidos Montreal. The trailer is seemingly a combination of gameplay and in-engine visuals. Regardless, it should be familiar to many a Marvel fan. Check it out below.

The trailer shows the Avengers’ Helicarrier containing some experimental tech. After things go wrong – and Captain America is seemingly killed (confirmed not dead, since he’s playable) – the Avengers are outlawed. Several years later, they’re called back into action to combat some horrific evil. It’s a completely original story, but contains the signature Marvel heroism.

Voice talent includes the likes of Troy Baker, Nolan North, and Laura Bailey (who plays Kait in Gears 5). New content for the game will be delivered at “no additional cost”, and there will be no “random loot boxes”, according to the development team. PS4 players will be getting early beta access and “unique benefits”, which are to be revealed later.

Marvel’s Avengers is coming to Xbox One, PS4, PC, and Google Stadia on May 15th, 2020.
