Square Enix and Eidos Montreal recently revealed the full system requirements for the PC version of Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy, and one detail from that that caught nearly everyone’s eye was the game’s storage requirements, which were listed as 150 GB. That’s a big number, even by today’s standards. Thankfully, it looks like the actual file size of the game will be significantly smaller.
Taking to Twitter, developer Eidos Montreal recently confirmed that it’s “in the last stages of optimizing the final game”, and that the final file size of its PC version will be approximately 80 GB at launch, which is nearly half as much as what was mentioned in the PC requirements. 80 GB is still nothing to scoff at, of course, but as compared to what was mentioned before, it’s much easier to digest.
Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy is out in a week, on October 26. It will launch for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
Hey everyone! We wanted to give you an update on the final size of the PC version of the game, which will not be 150 GB. The team is in the last stages of optimizing the final game and we can confirm the file size will be approximately 80 GB at launch.
