While playing as either character, you may spot the other swinging through the city or even stopping crimes, per Insomniac's James Wan.

Based on impressions and gameplay thus far, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is a pretty big experience. Its playtime is about the same as the first game, but the world map has roughly doubled, with Queens and Brooklyn available to explore. You can also swap between protagonists Peter Parker and Miles Morales at almost any time.

Some missions and requests require a specific Spider-Man, but what is the other doing while you’re busy? Speaking to @MeshMushi, associate animation director James Ham confirmed that you’ll see the other character swinging through the city, “Sometimes actively doing something or stopping a crime.”

While it sounds relatively simple, there may be occasions where you swap to the other Spider-Man and are suddenly involved with what they’re doing. It could also mean they’ll come to your aid, though Insomniac Games hasn’t confirmed the same. We’ll have to wait and see.

Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is out on October 20th for PS5. Check out our feature for all the latest details and stay tuned for more.
