Pity the man with no memories, but whatever you do, especially if you’re on the opposing side, don’t underestimate Wolverine. Even in Insomniac Games’ take on the Marvel anti-hero, as he struggles to hold on to whatever shred of humanity is left, Logan is more than willing to get his hands dirty.
As the extensive gameplay from the latest State of Play showcased, that often means shredding opponents apart, limb from limb. Traveling the globe to rescue mutants from Bolivar Trask and his Reavers, his (linear) journey also involves a stopover in Tokyo. And besides facing highly trained ninja, who else should welcome him but Yuriko Oyama, aka Lady Deathstrike?
Unfortunately, she makes the mistake of knocking Wolverine down and causing him to lose his photo with Jean Grey, either a holdover from his time with Team X or something more. And that triggers the all-too-familiar Berserker Rage.
Marvel’s Wolverine launches on September 15th for PS5, and as all the comments on the trailer point out, the physical version will include a disc. If you also noticed Sabretooth in the ensuing carnage, don’t worry – he’s on Logan’s side, and even accompanies him on missions to see who can rack up the most kills.
