It's also been claimed that the game will feature a darker and more violent tone than past Insomniac titles.

With Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 now out, all eyes will now be turning to Insomniac Games’ next title, which is Marvel’s Wolverine. And though official details on the game are currently scant, some information may have emerged thanks to a fresh leak.

As per prominent leaker Daniel RichtmanMarvel’s Wolverine is set to launch sometime in 2025. Though a previous leak by journalist Jeff Grubb claimed that the game was targeting a Fall 2024 release, it was said at the time that the game could be internally delayed, which, if this new leak is anything to go by, it seems to have been.

Richtman also claims that Marvel’s Wolverine will take players to Madripoor, a fictional city in Southeast Asia in the Marvel universe that’s described as a haven for pirates and criminals. Whether that means the entire game will be set in Madripoor or if it will serve as one of several locations that players will be visiting remains to be seen. In his aforementioned leaked earlier this year, Grubb claimed that the game would be a semi-open world title rather than a fully open world one.

Meanwhile, Richtman has also claimed that Marvel’s Wolverine will have a darker and more violent tone than past Insomniac titles- which, of course, is something that was confirmed by game director Brian Horton shortly after the game’s announcement in 2021.

Of course, if Marvel’s Wolverine does indeed miss a 2024 launch, it should be interesting to see what Insomniac has planned for the year. Will we see DLC for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, or perhaps a Venom spinoff? Or will the studio take a well-earned break from releasing anything and focus entirely on Marvel’s Wolverine’s development? Stay tuned in the coming weeks and months for more updates.
