Emotional Bond With Players

With Mass Effect 3, BioWare isn’t just creating a mindless blockbuster action title. No, they’re putting in a lot of effort, and being focused on a devastating war, obviously it will have a lot of emotional drama involved. Now, we don’t know much about this, but who doesn’t know about the kid in the vent? Shepard tries to get him out of there, and tries to help him, but the kid refuses, and Shepard leaves. At the end of the level, as Shepard is escaping from Earth, he sees the kid getting into an escape shuttle. Their eyes meet, the kid smiles, and as soon as he gets into the shuttle, a Reaper laser beam blasts it to pieces, leaving a heavy feeling in our hearts and tears in our eyes. This may come across a cheap trick, but BioWare is making one point clear- this is war, and people will die. Be ready to feel moisture in your eyes a lot of times as you play through Mass Effect 3; we sure are.
