Bioware has been busy today. After executive producer Casey Hudson announced that the core team that worked on Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic is busy with a new IP, it has been revealed that the next Mass Effect will be friendly to both newcomers and fans.
Studio director for Bioware Montreal Yanick Roy answered questions on Twitter regarding the next game in the sci-fi action RPG series – which is currently untitled but confirmed to not be featuring Commander Shepard. When asked if there would be a Mass Effect: Genesis system to assist newcomers to the series, Roy replied that:

He also stated that Bioware will be looking to improve character animations this time around.

Roy also added that, for now, in regards to GLBTI-inclusive and gender options for the main character that:

As of now, there is no release date set for the next Mass Effect but it be using DICE’s Frostbite 3 engine.
