The next Mass Effect is confirmed to include an online component, according to senior development director Chris Wynn on Twitter.

“Things are getting real now and I need an excellent Producer to come shape online for the next Mass Effect.” This was followed by a job listing for an online producer.

It was rumoured that the next Mass Effect, tentatively dubbed Mass Effect 4, would have some kind of multiplayer component. Mass Effect 3’s success in that department made many of us believe that Bioware wasn’t done with multiplayer and the inclusion of a co-op campaign in the recent Dragon Age: Inquisition was further testament to the same.

Regardless, Mass Effect 4 is still a ways off – it’s been rumoured that E3 2015 will mark the first official appearance for the same. Will EA finally take the covers off of its next sci-fi epic? We’ll need to stay tuned and wait till June to find out.
