Expressions, animations and more improved.

A new patch has been live for Bioware’s Mass Effect: Andromeda for the past few days and it showcases strong improvements across numerous cutscenes. Many of these are in the initial hours of the game but it’s still interesting to see the changes made. Youtuber Yong Yea has compiled some scenes, comparing the improvements on the original game, patch 1.05 and the current 1.06.

Patch 1.05 is where Bioware retouched the eyes and some of Sara Ryder’s facial features along with improving Addison, lip-syncing and general animations. The most recent patch actually adds eye tracking and ensures that character’s eyes follow you wherever (almost). The improvements made to the facial expressions also continue as exemplified at 2:12 of the video.

Mass Effect is currently on ice following Andromeda’s release with resources diverted to Bioware Edmonton for Dylan and EA Motive. What are your thoughts on the game even after all the hullabaloo? Let us know in the comments.
