Mass Effect Andromeda Not Currently Planned for Nintendo Switch Release – Bioware

Plans could change if consumers want it though.

Following a report from a Nintendo insider that Mass Effect: Andromeda and Red Dead Redemption 2 would not be releasing on the Nintendo Switch, Bioware producer Mike Gamble recently told Stevivor that there are no plans for a Switch release.

Then again, that could change if consumers really want a version on the platform. “Yeah, not right now, no. We’re not planning on it. If the Switch launches and everyone’s just yammering for Mass Effect, who knows. We never want to close doors like that.”

As per the insider report, it seemed like EA weren’t happy that Mass Effect 3 didn’t sell well on the Wii U. However, if the Nintendo Switch turns out to be a massive success right from launch then there’s nothing stopping the publisher from taking advantage.

For now though, Mass Effect: Andromeda is scheduled to release in Q1/Q2 2017 for Xbox One, PS4 and PC. Stay tuned for more information on a concrete release date.
