Mecha BREAK - Stellaris

Amazing Seasun Games’ competitive shooter Mecha BREAK kicks off July with some promising changes, including 12 Strikers available from the outset. However, some wildcards are also entering the mix, like Stellaris. As a melee-focused Striker, it excels at getting close and ganking an enemy before they know what hit them.

Stellaris is armed with a Basic Warblade, which consumes Energy with each striker and whose mid-air downward slash is unparryable by low-altitude targets. Its Assault Warblade unleashes a trio of staggering energy slashes, but when held, a two-second window for parrying attacks is activated. Successful parries will unleash Spinning Slashes.

Alternating attacks with both Warblades unleashes some impressive combos and even a sleek Plunging Strike, a Rapid Slash and the aforementioned Spinning Slash. Other notable tools include the Composite Tactical Claw for grappling and slowing targets. However, pressing it again will see Stellaris knocking them back and dealing damage.

There’s also Optical Camouflage, which grants invisibility (meaning no enemy lock-on). It also cancels stagger, making for an efficient escape tool when overwhelmed. However, if you attack or receive damage, then the camouflage is deactivated. Recon units can also detect you. Finally, there’s Sword Drone that unleashes multiple flying projectiles that hit enemies behind force fields and barriers, though it can’t breach over.

Mecha BREAK launches on July 1st worldwide for Xbox Series X/S and PC. Check out our feature for more details.
