Media Create Sales (Jan 02 – Jan 08); Monster Hunter 3G sells 1 million

It’s been an interesting time in the Japanese market, as we have seen 3DS’ renaissance and Vita’s meek debut. 2012’s first week of sales are here, most of the platforms have recieved a significant bump, especially the 3DS, which has taken Japan by storm.

The PS3 is at second place at 74k and beats the Wii for total sales this year. Vita has remained flat and sold the same amount of units, as it did last week. 3DS received a 40k bump and is doing pretty well.

We also have the software charts for you, and Monster Hunter 3G finally sells 1 million on the 3DS. Mario Kart 7 is the top seller.

Nintendo completely dominates the charts as you can see below and again, they’ve had a good holiday in Japan.
