Given the general amount of hype surrounding Platinum Games’ Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance, not to mention the expectations from Konami and Kojima Productions, and that of fans for a Metal Gear title – especially one that carries the story forward from the MGS series – how could we not expect the game to be great?

Fortunately, if news of GamesTM UK’s first review of the game is any indication, those expectations aren’t in vain.

According to a tip that GamingEverything received, the publication reportedly MGR a 9 out of 10. There was much praise for the gameplay, with game time hovering around six to eight hours, and it stated that it was “almost certainly the best Metal Gear game released this generation.”

Tall claims for sure but not impossible. We’ll find out for ourselves if Platinum Games has delivered the premiere slice and dice experience Kojima desired when Revengeance releases for PS3 and Xbox 360 on February 21st.
