Metal Gear Rising Revengeance Trailer Shows Off Augment Mode

A mix of waypoint system and enemy locator, it certainly is snazzy.

Platinum Games has released a new gameplay trailer for the upcoming Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance. It finally tells us what that funny view-finder on Raiden’s face is about. And it’s quite the useful tool.

Essentially triggering “Augment Mode”, it allows you to look through walls, find targets and successfully locate slicing points for slow motion slicing. The uses of Augment are detailed in a multitude of scenarios, including attacking, stealth and even avoiding detection.

Hell, it’s even a boon when fighting in the dark as you can sneak up on enemies and straight up assassinate ’em. Or when an enemy is just rounding the corner and you have no place to hide save your cardboard box.

All this, and the return of the dirty magazine – now refitted for future purpose.

Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance will be released on PS3 and Xbox 360 on February 19th in North America and 22nd in Europe.
