Metal Gear Rising will be playable at E3 2012, confirms Kojima

In an interview with Japanese gaming mag Famitsu, which also included Platinum Games’ CEO Tatsuya Minami and producer Atsushi Inaba, the father of the Metal Gear franchise confirmed that the upcoming Platinum developed Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance will be playable at E3 this year.

Kojima also talked about the partnership between Kojima Productions and Platinum Games (developers of games like Vanquish and Bayonetta), and how it “started getting serious” at the Vita press conference that took place last January.

One of the biggest issues hardcore Metal Gear fans have with the game is that it throws stealth out of the picture completely, while stealth is basically what the series is all about. Minami said they didn’t incorporate any stealth mechanics in the game because they “didn’t fit with the new nature of the game.”

Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance, developed completely by Platinum Games, releases later this year for the Xbox 360 and PS3.
