REALIZING THAT PAZ IS A HALLUCINATION
Seeing Paz in The Phantom Pain after her unequivocal death in Ground Zeroes was shocking to a lot of people, but given the fact that this is, after all, Metal Gear, we were ready to buy into the fact that maybe she didn’t actually die. Every scene involving her in the game was utterly captivating, and it’s quite painful to see Venom Snake struggling to come to terms with her death. When it’s finally revealed that in the entire game, Paz had just been a hallucination, and that she really did die when the bomb inside her exploded, you can’t help but feel a little hollow.
