As if having to kill The Boss wasn’t bad enough, Naked Snake soon finds out that he essentially had to kill her for no good reason. Though he’d believed that she had turned and defected from the United States, it is revealed that that had never actually happened, that it had all been a cover for her while she’d been in the process of accomplishing her actual mission. It’s a startling revelation, and the realization that The Boss’ true nature will never really be known to the world, and that she will always be known as a traitor when she was actually anything but, is heart-breaking.
