Metal Gear Solid 5 The Phantom Pain

Ever since Metal Gear Solid 5 was announced in its initial form, that of Ground Zeroes, director Hideo Kojima had revealed that original voice actor David Hayter would not be reprising his role as Snake. The announcement surprised many of us, especially since the Japanese VA remained unchanged. Eventually, Kiefer Sutherland was announced as the new voice of Snake but many fans still believed that Hayter was involved in the game some how. All the cryptic tweets he had been sending out didn’t exactly help matters.

Nonetheless, Hayter took to Twitter today to clarify, yet again, that he wasn’t in the game. “Guys, for the millionth — and last — time. I am not in Metal Gear V. In any way. At all. No joke. Just not. True story.”

Take that for what you will. We’ll have to wait for the release of Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain to know for sure, but till then, it’s Hayter’s word against everyone else’s.
