Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes is now available on Amazon for pre-order on the Xbox 360 and PS3. We’re not quite sure why the site hasn’t updated the release date (it’s currently listed as releasing on December 31st 2014), but for those who want to receive the Standard Edition as soon as it releases, this is a good step.

Ground Zeroes serves as the prologue to The Phantom Pain, and sees Snake on a mission to rescue Paz and Chico. There will be a main story campaign but players will also be able to participate in “Side Ops” missions as well. The game will serve as an introduction to the new fully open world aspects of the franchise and will have such features day-night cycles, dynamic weather conditions, several means of transport and a revamped combat system and interface.

Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes is due to release on March 18th 2014 in North America and March 20th in Europe for Xbox One, Xbox 360, PS3 and PS4.
